Pilot Report begins: Before Cessna announced its light-sport aircraft (LSA) prototype, the Wichita, Kansas-based aircraft manufacturer investigated the airplanes produced by Costruzioni Aeronautiche Tecnam, aka Tecnam. Cessna's interest was likely stimulated by Tecnam's 50-year history of aircraft manufacturing. The company traces its roots to 1950 and the P48B Astore.
