You have choices in cockpit instruments. That's good. Yet not all systems are created equally so you might find the choices from MGL Avionics to be particularly compelling... read more below. Beyond quality hardware and software, you will surely enjoy working with the MGL crew: friendly, knowledgeable folks determined to make your instrument and radio purchasing experience a satisfying one.

Reinventing the Glass Cockpit — MGL's iEFIS is the next generation Electronic Flight Info System using a custom-developed, pressure-sensitive, sunlight-readable touch screen that can also be operated using gloves. MGL's iEFIS adds the easy-to-use advantage of a touch screen to full-featured traditional controls to provide pilot with choice in the cockpit. MGL's pressure sensitive touch screen operates much like a tactile button does by preventing false activation when touching the screen during turbulent conditions. Once you've experienced it, you'll never want to go back to knobs and buttons. iEFIS is a registered trademark owned by MGL Avionics

Many Models to Choose; Radios, too — Besides iEFIS, you can choose from three color EFIS models including Enigma (5.7 inch), Voyager (8.4 inch) and Odyssey (10.4 inch). If your panel space is at a premium, MGL also has the XTreme mini (4.3 inch) models for EFIS and EMS (Engine Monitoring System). To fit conventional panels, MGL has an entire range of electronic 3.125-inch instruments named the Velocity line and an even smaller (2.25-inch) Infinity series. If you have an instrument panel, MGL has an instrument to fit. Finally, they can also supply comm radios and even these can be as small as 2.25 inches.

Always Working to Make it Better — Recently, MGL Avionics integrated the modular Sandia Aerospace STX 165R Remote Mode-C transponder to many of its instrument systems. MGL Avionics views the Sandia transponder as an elegant and affordable way of meeting the FAA transponder requirements. (In the USA only Mode-C is required for recreational Part 91 flight). MGL notes the ability to mount the transponder closer to its antenna and further away from other avionics in the aircraft is an advantage for LSA engineers and homebuilders trying to lay out a clean and interference-free panels.
