Breezer Aircraft USA
Breezer Aircraft is a premium example of German aircraft design and workmanship in an all-metal design. A sleek achievement, Breezer works as a cross country cruiser or a flight school airplane.
Breezer Aircraft USA is now located on the Sun 'n Fun campus where the big annual airshow occurs. This premium location allows Breezer to assemble aircraft for U.S. customers but also to provide flight instruction to youth attending the Central Florida Aerospace Academy located on the same grounds.
Americans met Breezer in 2005 but the project dates back to 2000, when engineer Ralf Magnussen designed and built the first Breezer prototype. In 2006 Breezer Aircraft GmbH & Co. KG acquired the design and set up new production facilities with the goal of building a larger series of high quality aircraft. The new enterprise relocated to Bredstedt, a town well north in Germany.
A tight-knit staff of twenty employees and management staff of four produces the current Breezer CR in addition to a dedicated flight training edition that meets the expectations of professional flight instructors but is also able to perform regional cross country flying. The company's current design project is the Breezer Acro in consultation with a leading German aerobatic pilot, Tom Jülich.
A very active and involved company, Breezer Aircraft offers development, production, financing, type familiarization, flight training and client support services. For European pilots or students, the northern German company offers a one-stop shopping experience. Americans have come to recognize Wolfgang Nitschmann who represents the Breezer manufacturer in support of their American distributor.
In the United States, Breezer Aircraft is closely aligned with Mike Zidziunas or simply "Mike Z" to the many Florida sport pilots who know him. As noted above, Mike operates an active flight school that has graduated many Sport Pilot certificate holders. His enterprise also performs all levels of maintenance including on Rotax engines. In fact, his facility has been used to train a number of other mechanics for the Light Sport Repairman - Maintenance rating.

Breezer -- ELSA Kit (2011) Breezer Aircraft now offers a kit version of their all-metal Light-Sport Aircraft. The German company relies on support from American importer Mike Z, who shows us around the new money-saving opportunity in the LSA space. Not too many kit LSA are available yet (with a few notable exceptions like the Van's RV-12), but here's another entry. |

4 LSA Brands -- Low Wing All-Metal At the 2010 Midwest LSA Expo we did something new. We picked several aircraft of a similar description and pointed out their similarities and differences. This time we look at four all-metal high wing LSA: Rans Aircraft S-19 Venterra; Evektor Sportstar Max IFR, Van's Aircraft RV-12, and the Breezer Aircraft Breezer II. If you're searching for a high wing LSA, this video may help show your choices and help you make a purchase decision. |

Breezer Aircraft -- Breezer II (2010) The first airplane to sell at Sebring 2010 was this Breezer II. What a fitting way to start off the new U.S. import and distribution operation handled by industry veteran Mike Zidziunas (everyone calls him "Mike Z"). Breezer is an German-built, all-metal SLSA that flies beautifully and has a new cockpit interior. Breezer Aircraft USA -- not the web name as mistakenly stated in the video -- will be based at Plant City, Florida, near the home of Sun 'n Fun. |

This all-metal Light-Sport Aircraft has already evolved into the Breezer II and is one pleasant flying machine you might like. General aviation pilots will like some of the new features of this second version.

Breezer II (07/08)
"Breezer Aircraft and the New Breezer II"
by Dan Johnson.
Published in Light Sport and Ultralight Flying,
July, 2008.
Pilot Report begins: Close to Perfect It usually takes more than one try to get something right. To get close to a perfect aircraft usually takes many iterations, but Breezer Aircraft has come very close to producing a wonderful light sport aircraft with their Breezer II. We've seen the Breezer before when the U.S. importer brought the thennew model to AirVenture Oshkosh '05. I flew it that year and recently got the chance to fly the Breezer II. While many of the good qualities found in the earlier model were retained,

Comco-Icarus Breezer
"Breezing Along"
by Dan Johnson.
Published in EAA Sport Pilot & Light Sport Aircraft Magazine,
March, 2006.
Pilot Report begins: Like American ultralights, European microlights have paved the way to a new breed of aircraft for European fliers. Residents of the European community don't have the sport pilot/light-sport aircraft (SP/LSA) rule, but they know how to build the planes that serve the market. Comco-Ikarus is one of Germany's most established microlight builders. After a long and successful run with its C22 and C42 airplanes, the company, based in Hohentengen in southwest Germany, is ready to run in LSA circles with
