Tecnam US Inc.

Tecnam is the world's leading manufacturer of Light-Sport aircraft offering more models and variations than any other producer.

Besides the world's fastest-selling light twin and their new P2010 four seater, Tecnam offers these LSA: P-92 Eaglet, Astore, and P2008.

If you love Light-Sport Aircraft, Tecnam is a company you simply cannot ignore. The Italian manufacturer with a large, factory-owned facility in Sebring, Florida has the largest selection of FAA-accepted ready-to-fly models. Let's review: Tecnam builds the P-92 Eaglet, Astore, and P2008; all high wings except for the Astore, released to celebrate the company's 65th year in business. Flight schools have found success with the P-92 Eaglet as it is a docile and student-friendly training LSA. Tecnam has been in business since 1948, making it the most established of all players in light aviation. So you should not be surprised to hear they roll out a new aircraft every working day year 'round.

← Seen at left: (top) P2008, (bottom) Twin, and (center) the new Astore. To the right: (top) The new P2010 four seater →

Powered by Professor Luigi Pascal's tireless design work, Tecnam developed the world's best selling twin-engine airplane, their P2006 Twin and in recent years unveiled a dramatic new project, the P2012 Traveler. This 11-seat regional commuter airliner Traveler is off to a fast start with U.S. launch customer, Cape Air, the largest feeder airline in America. These big projects show Tecnam's capability, but their work on larger aircraft is closely linked to their Light-Sport Aircraft models. Another new aircraft is their P2010, a handsome four seater aimed at the general aviation market. "Twenty Ten" is based significantly on the P2008, Tecnam's first (but not last) model to use a smooth composite fuselage mated beautifully to all-metal wings. Tecnam will be unveiling their P2010 at Sun 'n Fun 2015 as they celebrate their first year of operating a company-owned facility in the United States.

You can learn to fly in a Tecnam and you can move up and up, sticking with the popular brand throughout your flying career. Or ... stay with their LSA if they meet your needs, something all models can do with great Italian style. The prolific company even makes an entry level LSA that sells for far under $100,000. You literally need look no further than Tecnam to find a great flying airplane in any configuration you could want.

Here on ByDanJohnson.com, most visitors seek LSA info and we have many article on Tecnam's line. Read pilot reports on several of the Tecnam Light-Sport Aircraft. See videos on Bravo, Eaglet, P2008, and more. Follow Tecnam news in SPLOG. Or visit Tecnam's website for even more detail. With a range of prices and features Tecnam has an airplane for most buyers. The diversity of Tecnam models is certainly one reason the Italian company is enjoying strong sales. At an airshow or a dealer near you (nearly anywhere in the world!), choose a Tecnam for a demo flight. I've found each of them to be sweet flying airplanes built in the manner of certified aircraft, solid and reliable.

The latest from top producer, Tecnam of Italy, is this super handsome P2008. First seen at the 2009 Aero show in Germany, Sebring 2010 was the coming-out party for the P2008 in the United States. In this new SLSA model, we see the marriage of Italy's all-metal skills to the composite capability of CAG, a Spanish company Tecnam bought to acquire their knowledge of such construction. And it worked! The smooth lines and Italian design make for one of the prettiest LSA in the fleet.

Light-Sport Aircraft may only be used commercially in two ways: for paid flight instruction and aircraft rentals. However, if a LSA is bought by a municipality, the U.S. government, or the military, it may be called a "Public Use Aircraft," and is then exempt from FAA's prohibition of other commercial use. The Tecnam in this video is fitted with a reasonably low cost, quickly attached camera system that might be used by law enforcement officials. Watch too see how the gear works.

Tecnam, one of the most successful manufacturers in the LSA industry, makes several models of which one of the newest is the Eaglet.
