Remos Aircraft, Inc.
Remos Aircraft is the manufacturer of the next generation GX. This beautiful composite design built by German craftsmen offers excellent performance, light responsive handling, and cabin finish to please most American aviators.
Remos occupies a new factory, significantly
upgrading its previously demonstrated ability to build one of Germany's finest aircraft. The gleaming new facility an hour's drive from the famed German city of Berlin boasts a substantial investment in advanced manufacturing technologies, a highly motivated work force, and its own 3,000-foot runway. Using state-of-the-art techniques and stringent test standards, GX pilots are assured of a recreational aircraft suited to the most discriminating buyers. The renewed Remos Aircraft company is led by experienced businessmen with decades of European know-how.
Cruising at 130 mph and topping out at 137 mph, GX is well adapted to the U.S. rules for Light-Sport Aircraft. Changes in the new model are geared to American airports including a steeper glide path for U.S. pilots not trained in long-gliding sailplanes (as are many in European pilots). Composite construction keeps empty weight to a low 670 pounds, the factory reports, giving 650 pounds of useful load. Low weight and a clean exterior allow level flight with a fuel burn of a little as 2.9 gph.
The Remos GX, which follows the popular G-3, is available around the world thanks to the passion of a gifted entrepreneur, Lorenz Kreitmayr, who is confined to a wheelchair. Despite his lack of mobility, Lorenz inspired his team to create and bring to market one of Germany's most attractive and well-designed sport aircraft. His success can be seen in photos but you really need to fly a GX to gain the fullest experience.

Remos G-3 Mirage
"Germany's Award-Winning Remos G-3 Mirage"
by Dan Johnson.
Published in Experimenter Magazine,
November, 2002.
Pilot Report begins: “White, composite, and from overseas”…was a theme of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2002 in the ultralight/lightplane area. I’ve already congratulated Experimenter Editor Mary Jones and Art Director Pierre Kotze on the October issue’s beautiful layout of the aircraft from afar, which may become near and dear to Yankee pilots. This month, I’d like to introduce you to one of the new flock of white, composite, and overseas aircraft—Remos Aircraft’s G-3 Mirage.

Remos -- GX Remos is an up and coming company that has taken the lead in FAA registrations and one reason is the new GX model that looks great and flies well. The interior was redone as was the wing construction making a nice upgrade from the G-3 that flew in Europe for many years. Pop its gull wing doors and see for yourself. |

Remos GX (03/09)
"Up-And-Comer... Remox GX"
by Dan Johnson.
Published in Plane & Pilot,
March, 2009.
Pilot Report begins: New Remos GX Rises An LSA that was 10 years in the making may aptly be called a "mature design" within this nascent sector of piston aircraft. A few others share a similarly "ripe, old" heritage, but most are far newer than the trusty GA models in which many of us learned the art of flying. Designed by engineer Lorenz Kreitmayr, the first Remos G-3 took to the air in 1997 (10 years before the upgraded GX first flew). In 2008, N447RA, the first GX, arrived in the States for the big summer flyfest
